MICHELLE IDELL

Born and raised in Southern California, Michelle Idell has been a lover of music since a very early age. What began as a small child singing every Disney song and commercial jingle grew to a passion that began taking shape as teen. At Marina High School, Michelle began fundamental music training as a vocalist and section leader and lead Alto Saxophonist in the Marina Swing Band as well as Marching Band. She also played Bass Drum in Percussion Ensemble and received the Golden Shield Award in Music her Senior year. She also sang with the choir and Praise Band at Parkcrest Christian Church. Her music training continued at Golden West College where she was a featured Mezzo Soprano soloist in the Early Music Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Bruce Bales and studied vocal technique with Prof. Alina Artemova. She also performed with Cal State Dominguez Hills Chamber Choir and El Camino College Women’s Chorus Voce Angelicus under the direction of Dr. Joanna Nachef.
After college, she began performing with large professional orchestral ensembles such as the California Philharmonic Orchestra with Maestro Victor Vener and the Golden State Pops Orchestra with Maestro Steven Fox, both under the direction of chorus Maestra Marya Basaraba. She has served for many years as a Mezzo Chorus Ringer with Temple Akiba High Holidays Ensemble, LA Film Orchestra, Marina Del Rey Symphony Orchestra, South Bay Wind Ensemble, Grace Lutheran Church as a choir ringer, cantor and praise band vocalist, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church as a cantor.
Michelle has also performed as lead and backing vocal for The Laurel Canyon Band, for Grammy nominated artist Chuck Alvarez and is featured on two recent studio albums for the Chuck Alvarez Band and blues/rock band Satellite Voodoo. Michelle finished her Associate of Arts degree in Music at El Camino College in 2023 where she studied vocal technique with Prof. Erin Wood. She continues to hone her craft studying with esteemed opera singer Marya Basaraba. She is also working on producing many new projects with her husband, drummer Adam Idell of Cal Arts, most notably the multi-genre dance cover band The Idellix of which she sings lead vocal.
Michelle Idell has performed at many prestigious venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the LA Arboretum, Santa Anita Race Track, Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, UCLA Royce Hall, Idyllwild Jazz Festival, Alva’s Showroom, Warner Grand Theater, Carnival Cruise Lines, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Downey Theatre, Starlight Amphitheatre in Burbank, Samba by the Sea, Redondo Beach, Orange County Segerstrom Performing Arts Center, Michael’s Tuscany Room in San Pedro, Dodger Stadium, LA Coliseum, Angel Stadium, Shoreline Village Summer Concert Series, The World Famous Lighthouse Café on the Hermosa Beach Pier, and the historic Carnegie Hall in New York City. She is slated per perform at St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City, Rome in Summer 2026.
She has also sung under the direction of esteemed conductors and composers including Maestro Valery Ryvkin, John Debney, Christopher Lenartz, William Ross, Michael Giacchino, Brian Tyler, David Newman, etc.
